Kunitomo Matchlock Museum
Kunitomo Matchlock Museum has historical exhibitions of the guns introduced from the Netherlands in 1543. Kunotimo-cho, Nagahama, started to produce guns soon after the introduction and became one of the biggest production places in Japan. There were more than 70 blacksmiths and 500 craftsmen working in its prime. In the museum, you can see the slides, dioramas, and other workpieces about the history and culture of Kunitomo and Ikkansai Kunimoto known as the “Japanese Edison”.
