Nagahama Castle Historical Museum
Nagahama Castle is the castle where Toyotomi Hideyoshi first became the lord of the castle after uniting the whole country in the late Sengoku period. This castle was abandoned in the early Edo period and the remains were moved to Hikone Castle, etc. In 1983 it was restored replicating a castle in the Azuchi-momoyama period and the interior was opened as a historical museum.
The observation platform on the 5th floor (top floor) allows visitors to overlook beautiful panoramic views such as Nagahama town area, Lake Biwa, etc.
