Duck dishes
Kamo-suki (sukiyaki with wild duck meat) is a typical winter specialty which is becoming increasingly popular. It is available at various restaurants in Nagahama from the opening of the hunting season every year on Nov. 15.
Most restaurants in Nagahama use wild duck, which has a lot of fat but little odor, in their cooking. If you're here during the season, please be sure to try the traditional duck dishes.
